There was a great turnout for the first meeting of the Caribbean Barbeque Association which was held Tuesday evening, June 28 at the Pool Palace in Old San Juan. Association President Mike Compton explained the goals and objectives of the organization, to support and spread knowledge of traditional, slow smoked barbecue in Puerto Rico and throughout the Caribbean. He also explained that the association will be scheduling barbecue cooking classes in the near future to teach the art of slow smoked barbeque. A drawing was held for door prizes and several new members were signed up. Afterwards, there was socializing with drinks and pool playing. A good time was had by all!
